Our Activity
The “home for life” is divided into three houses: “Leshem,” “Topaz” and “Shoam”. Each house is adapted for the special needs of the residents we call “friends”. Every house has a kitchen, a living room and separated bedrooms for each “friend”. Overall, 20 “friends” are living in Pardes Hanna home for life.
Most of the residents have low functioning Autism, therefore, they need intense assistance with various activities and the staff should always be near them and give them basic physical and psychological help.
In all three houses, our aim is to maximize the advancement of the independent functions of each “friend” according to his capabilities.
The role of the volunteer in the Residential living is to guide whenever needed, and to provide the residents with support and to help other member of the staff.
Every house has a house manager and a designated team. There is a staff member who acts as a supervisor for all houses. Any problem that arises during a shift should be reported to him/her or to the house manager.
In our Hostel, training and support is one of our top priorities. Team members participate in individual and group meetings. Once a month there is a general meeting for all staff members and once a month there is a “house meeting” where we address issues concerned to each one of the houses
